Guys, I would like some comparative information. I do not care if a woman knows and answers, though. How much would you pay for a good haircut and a shave of a fully grown beard that has not seen a razor in months. I talked hubby into going to a barber shop. He was anxious to get rid of a messy beard and mustache. I wanted him to get a professional hair cut, instead of one from me. So anyone, men or ladies. Where you live how much would a good shave and hair cut cost? His was pricey, but was worth it to me.

If I understand you correctly, you are referring to a full shave. I have treated our son to a cut and shave, well with him its a trim down from the bushy to the beautiful and I usually pay about $100 before the tip. But, prices are different up here then in the US, so bear that in mind along with the shave.

It was a full shave but was not the luxe treatment of hot towels, etc. Bob said it was all done with clippers, but he looks so much better. It was $30 for all and I doubt if he left a tip.

@GardenGerty I think that a man would be hard pressed to get just a cut here never mind the shave, he did really well-especially if he feels so much better after.

I've never had a professional shave but I pay $25 for my haircut. At least I did when I got it cut last January.

@kobesbuddy It's what I've paid for three or four years. We really like the woman who cuts our hair. We followed her from the salon at Walmart to her own place about four years ago.

@DaddyEvil One lady at WalMart cut my hair. She did a nice job and charged $25. When I went back a few months later, she no longer works there:(

@BarBaraPrz I used to pay $20 with a tip, did not let them wash it, but cut and style.

@GardenGerty That's cheap. Last time I checked at a mall hair cutting place, it was $40 just for a trim. Wash, style and set was more... $60 or $65.

This was a first for us. It was hard for me to talk him in to it, but I am tired of doing everything around here and felt a barber would be a good choice.

My father used to shave his beard in front of a mirror. My husband too. I guess most men I know do that

My husband did, and even shaved others when he worked in a nursing home. Now he is old, his hands hurt and he bleeds easily. He can maintain it now, since he had it cut and shaved. He says he will use a blade, but I would rather he use an electric razor. We shall see.

I'd say $30 at the most. Jay shaves his own face, thank God!

Bob went through a phase where he did not shave and so at this point his beard needed professional help. He can maintain it now.

I don't believe in, nor does my husband believe in, paying someone to do something you can do yourself for next to nothing. However, if I needed professional help, I would suggest the cost reflect the quality of the work.

This was a birthday treat, and sure I could do it myself and leave him all cut and nicked and his hair kind of sticking up in places. I have been cutting his hair for over 25 years and this looks so nice.

I wouldnt pay a dime but then again, I can do it myself as that was my profession, also my son's as well ..barbers and hairdressers in our family trade going back years on both sides of family. My Grandfather paternal had a shop and my Auntie on Moms side both.

The last time I had a full shave and a haircut was over 30 years ago and it came to about $20 with the tip. I haven't been to a barber since winter 2020. My wife cuts my hair now, and I take care of my beard.

Bob is just slowing down on everything and it is hard for him. I just think this barber did a much better job than I do.

I live in Morocco, one dollar is 10 dirhams, you can do a lot with 10 dirhams. So a haircut is from 2 to 5 dollars, I guess the same for the beard. If you want to compare more, to get your hair dyed if you're a woman, it goes from 20 dollar if it's simple to 80 or 100 dollar if it's complicated highlights and stuff..

I have only had my hair professionally dyed and permed once, it was long. I cannot remember what it cost at the time, but it did not last well for what I paid. Thank you for your detailed answer.
