One More Thing I Dislike About Amazon

I have disliked Amazon due to its dealings with its co-workers and the seeming monopoly they have had for quite a long time. I personally do not use them if I can find a product elsewhere. This morning in my reading on the internet I came across just one more thing. Please have been going to Amazon for some time now to quit selling a preservative used by people to commit suicide. (Other e-commerce sites are also selling this product. No word on whether they have quit selling it, however) In July of 2019, a review was written by a person whose niece had used it to kill herself. The New York Times has identified 10 people who have used this chemical and that includes a pair of college freshmen in Pennsylvania and Maine, a 16-year-old in Ohio, and a 27-year-old in Texas. The algorithm even shows other products used for this reason.
Family members of those who have used the product bought from Amazon alerted the company to this fact but Amazon has declined to do anything. A letter to Amazon's president and CEO, Andy Jassy, has been sent by a bipartisan group of House members wanting answers to how the company has reacted to complaints and how it has listed the dangers.

But, if it is poison and is known to hurt people why sell it?

They can't be expected to take every item off their site that may be dangerous to some that want to end their lives. Just my opinion.
