In the Season 4 premiere of Sesame Street in 1972 a new character, Count Von Count, was introduced in a sketch with Bert and Ernie counting blocks. He has been teaching children to count for over 40 years. He counts anything and everything and this is a variant of OCD where sufferers count objects in their surroundings. A mysterious but friendly character he is. Can you imagine having this OCD variant? Obsessed with counting everything.

Hmmm. I have a bit of a habit of straightening things up! Like the cups have to be in a straight line. But I'm not like some people who think that bad things will happen if I don't do certain things. No, I just like things to be neat and tidy!

Nothing wrong with that. Only a bad thing when it interrupts your day and you don't get other things done because you are obsessed with neat and tidy.

Given that Semseme Street is designed to edicuate children, having this is kind of necessary. It also is a fun way to make kids not afraid of vampire stories.

Yes, and repetition is supposed to help in learning.

@celticeagle Yes. That's how we learn to talk, and do all sorts of things.

I'm glad I don't have OCD. I have enough problems. :-)
