I may be going on about this too much but I find it interesting and, I don't want any of you to become dehydrated. Here is this one and then one on foods and such that help. Here are some things that cause dehydration: * Sweating. After workouts or hiking, you need more water. Hot weather and humidity cause the body to sweat and lose fluids. * Increased Urination. If you have diabetes and some other illnesses, and may also cause constipation. * Some Medications. Some may cause increased urination. * Fever. Fevers cause our overall body temps to increase which puts a strain on our organs. They have to work harder so they need more water. * Vomiting or Diarrhea. The body loses a lot of electrolytes and fluids when we have diarrhea or are sick and vomiting. * Drinking Alcohol. Again another time when you will urinate more. If you don't replace the water lost then even just a couple of drinks can lead to dehydration. Signs of Dehydration in Children and Infants: * Tearless crying. * Easily irritable. * Dry tongue and mouth. * No wet diapers for three hours(infrequent urination) * Sunken cheeks and eyes. * The top of the skull has a sunken soft spot. Signs of Dehydration in Adults: * Dry mouth. * Dizziness. * Thirst. * Dark-colored urine and infrequent urination. * Reduced cognitive processing. * Dazed and confused states of awareness. I drink quite a lot and still not enough. I try to drink some every time I go to the bathroom and each time I think about it.
