Omicron is like Colds

One of my Chinese adult matrones are keeping on telling me that 'omicron' is just like the common colds. We just need to recuperate and let the course of this virus in our bodies. I sometimes feel stressed with her because it is not allowed for the virtual teachers in the company. To light the way, I always call her attention to this concern to stop. My common statement is, 'Sorry to tell you, but I cannot say anything about this issue.' She still insisted that Hong Kong people are in a difficult situation because of the high incidence of coronavirus. So the borderline was closed for them to enter Shenzhen, China. How can you exit yourself with a chatterbox? Image Credit: media.npr.org

I think she is right, as much as Covid was really just a superflu. It is what it is. I hope we never fall over the deep end again the way we have fallen over the deep end on this one. I have written fiction for many years, and I never could have come up with something as ridiculous as this entire thing.

She got a point here. It does happen if the coronavirus is not that serious. We cannot turn the table of what had started. It is a part of our lives and we need to be careful not to be infected.

@porwest I am sure the statistics infected with Covid 19 is not accurate and even in WHO. There are some people who were not recorded during this pandemic.

I have the same problem with some colleagues at work sometimes I just pretend to be busy and disengaged. You could always just be honest and say you'd love to talk more but you got another thing that needed attention.

@flapiz But why are there healthcare workers who don't want to? I mean, not just here or in the UK, but all over the world.

I think it's better to ignore them.

Through the years of existence, I learned to ignore things up to refrain from being stressed.

Omicron is one of the variant to Covid. It’s in the Covid family and not it’s not like a cold because most common cold we do have antibodies already for so our symptoms are not as rough. Omicron does hit kids a lot harder then adults. The adults seem to rebound quicker. It’s not worth fighting people on because they will hardly want to see your side of things. It’s not worth the energy that I could use for something else.

You said it right. The reason why I am trying to escape her talking about it because she does not know the real facts behind the differences between the two. Besides the point, I do not want to explain it because the lesson is not related to it.

@Shavkat if the lesson has nothing to do with it there is no point talking about it unless a student ask about them I can see explaining things or privately talking to that student

@ShyBear88 I agree. I stopped her and reminded that it is not the lesson.

Sometimes there's no response for people who continue to just talk and talk

Arguing with such persons is useless. I let them remain in their falsehood.

You said it right. They tried to insist their opinions but not open to accept others' opinionated statements.

Sometimes you can’t it you must be in close contact with that person and it’s hard to close your ears to a chatterbox.
