After Midnight

I awaken just after midnight and decide to take a stroll down the streets of the City that never sleeps. No - make that , the Site that never sleeps. After awhile I realize that something is different , instead of a buzz of activity there is a lot of snoozing going on. I visit the Recent Discussions page and must wait 30 minutes or more before someone showed up. I too am beginning to snooze, and think that perhaps l should go back to bed, which l did. But every night , just after midnight when l awake l shall be checking to see if the Site that never slept has returned. What about you? Have you noticed ? Do you miss it? Can we get it back? It seems to be quiet during the day as well.l would post more but right now l am using a smartphone to Mylot - which l am not accustomed to. I am waiting on my laptop to be returned to me.

I haven't done a late nighter here in long time - didn't realize the party actually slowed down at certain hours. Well, I suppose the world is in a different place right now - the focus is on other things. But hopefully that's temporary. Ok, I'll try harder to contribute - at some point .

Seeing the site is international, members from around the world with different time zones are here. I remember how busy it was at night back in the day.

@Kandae11 Right - there was a time with things were buzzing here all around the clock. I'll have to check for myself what's happening "after hours" - maybe the slower pace would be more my speed .

You also haven't written any discussions lately... And aren't here very often, either. I know life happens, but you could surely put your family "on hold" for a few years and talk with us on myLot a little more often.

Normally you'd find me here but I'm having allergic reactions pretty bad right now. Since I have an appointment with an allergist, my doctor can't give me my allergy shot this month, so I'm having to take Benadryl every six hours to be able to see... Used to, Benadryl kept me awake so I stayed active. Now, Benadryl puts me to sleep. So I'm here for a little while and then I'm asleep again. There's nothing I can do about that.

@Kandae11 It's not an increase of allergic reactions. This is the normal allergic reactions without the anti-allergy shot. And I've got the appointment with the allergist to find out exactly what's causing the problems. We already know I'm allergic to pet dander, seafoods and dust. (My regular doctor thinks it's the dust and pollen in the air that are causing most of the problems but I stay away from dogs and cats and haven't eaten seafood in years. *shrug*)

I don't know. I posted something this morning. It had two comments a few hours later. I wondered where everyone had gone. I miss the active days of MyLot. But if they are gone, I have to accept it.

@Kandae11 I used to see/talk with people from India, Indonesia and the Philippines all night long. Now, I just check to see if anyone new has made an account so I can welcome them to myLot. Most of my night is filled with me watching people playing online games now. Or watching nature videos. Or just reading a book.

I notice the 2 comments after 2 hours on lots of posts so when it happens to me l think this means that not many people are around - my mistake. When you check the hot discussions or top rated posts , you will find some posts have literally jumped ahead. Which means that members are there but probably don't feel in the mood to respond. I remember the days of 20 responses in 5 minutes.

@DaddyEvil. There was a time when mylot was busy round the clock , because of different time frames around the world , when it is my bedtime, others are just waking up. So if l decide to check in at midnight there will always be lots of people here. That is not the case now, seems like most of the members whose daytime hours are my midnight hours are no longer here.

I know at that time I am either asleep or preparing to go to sleep. Sometimes I do check mylot while I am winding down, but usually no later than 11:30 or so.

Sometimes l wake up in the night and decide to check it out seeing members from other time zones may be just having morning coffee or lunch. Especially during the days of Bubblews l could decide if l wanted to be online during the day or night.

It's the early morning hours when I can knock off most of my notifications before the rest of the site wakes up and I have non-stop replies and comments. I don't mind the quiet when I can catch up.

Not sure this will be too soon. It's the crowd, not that there's anything wrong with the crowd. But more regular people. Not anything too funny. A plain crowd. Plus the pandemic.
