Early Retirement Approved: What?!?

I wish I am still working in the local government. Why? I just read that government employees can retire at the age of 56. One of the fun facts about me is that I worked in one of the local government agencies in my city. It was my job before teaching online at present. That's life! I guess I should blame my incompetent Project Manager before. How young do people retire in your country?

Your project manager didn't know what was coming any more than you did. So don't blame him. 65 is the current age, but it's moving to 70. However, many people retire sooner. They just can't get the government retirement benefits until 62. They receive full benefits at 65.

Indeed, it is not his fault for that matter. Anyway, it was a past event in my life. Originally, the retirement age here is 65. In the past, the former president of senior citizens wants to reduce the retirement age.

@just4him I think it is one of the reasons why they wanted to reduce it.

@Shavkat I could understand reducing it if the average age of a person was less than it is. However, people are living longer, which is why ours is going to 70.

I'm not sure how old is retirement age here but the government keeps putting it up so people have to work longer. If I could retire at 56 I'd only have 4 more years to go. 3 1/2 years actually.

It sounds like you wanted to go for early retirement, isn't it? If not, I do. Since I am not a government employee, I am going to retire at the age of 65.

Don't be surprised! For non-government employees can retire at the age of 65 for both men and women.

The retirement age here is 65 with the intention of pushing it back to 70. My husband plans to work until he is 65. I don't have any real plans for retirement, but then I also don't work a typical job. I work part-time remotely and the rest of my time is spent pursuing other things. I'm hoping those other things eventually result in at least a little income.

It seems hard to retire at the age of 70. If I were retired, I still want to work online instead of being sedentary. I do hope that our pensions will be improved here.

Not too many retire before 65 here and I think it has now gone up to 67. If people are made redundant they often get a large payout.

Metrobank retires their employees at 54 as far as I know. I was told by a former Metrobank employee who is a friend of mine.

I also heard some special cases like this. These are the senior managers in malls.

Well as some said it is 65 right now and then at some point they are saying it is going to go to 70 but you can retire early in some situations. example, you can retire after 20 years if you are in the military but not sure it would be enough to live on, but you will get a monthly payment. This is also true if you work for the federal government.
