Uh-oh! Going Back To School?!?

The city officials posted a piece of updated news about going back to school physically at all levels in Baguio City, Philippines. I am feeling worried about this again. It seems that my city is not ready for this proposition. I cannot do anything if they push through this matter anytime soon. Are schools ready to have classes face-to-face now?

I also read with some discussions from your country that students have been schooling despite the pandemic situation. It is a good thing though.

@Rashnag Oh, I see. In my city, medical students are the ones going to university schools and if I am not mistaken, they started last week.

Schools here are face to face now. The big debate is on mask mandates. Some are for and some against, law struck it down which I think is stupid. They can't wait a couple more months to take off masks?

Oh, my! If it happens going back to schools, wearing face masks should still be mandated. I believe these people are anti-maskers.

Have been face-to-face since May 2020 for schools, most of the time it has been working just fine. Main problem is when all the teacher get COVID at the same time (mainly at home actually, not in school) 'cause you can't have the kids in school alone.

@Shavkat You can't really avoid it when it's everywhere, but 94 % of teachers are vaccinated so it is rather like everyone is getting the flu at the same time. Annoying but not dangerous.

@Torunn I do agree that it is not guaranteed that we are not fully protected despite being vaccinated. We can still be infected and carriers, too.

Oh, my! It seems that teachers need to be more cautious against this virus. I hope that everything will be fine there.

It seems we are quite late now. I just read that it needs to check everything before indulging in this idea.

Here in North Carolina, the school I teach at has been back in the classroom since August 2020. We have adhered to a strict code of masking, distancing, sanitizing, and keeping exposed or positive staff and students out of school for 14 days from the date of exposure or testing positive. In all that time, not a single case of transmission has been traced to our school. Monday, we are being forced to drop the masking requirement. I worry this will lead to the first in-school transmission before many days pass. I pray that I am wrong.

Personally, I can accept the fact that students would go back to their respective schools. Given that they will not drop the idea of wearing face masks and provide all the good facilities and tools for sanitation purposes.

I am glad that they can do this now. I hope if it happens here, it would be the same thing there.

Probably not but many schools here have done that also. My granddaughter caught COVID from school earlier in the month and her mom and baby brother got it from her. Some parents are opting to continue with digital classes but many are sending their kids to the locations.

This is what I do not want to happen. I hope they will delay the idea if coronavirus is gone.

Our classes all went back to school; now 30 have closed again due to positive cases.

This is what I am forecasting that it might have random closes of schools. It is best to control the situation first or zero in of cases.
