Oh I didn't know we were getting oil from Russia. Last I heard when Trump was in office. He denied letting them open oil fields ( whatever they are called,lol) in Alaska and some other places in the US.

@dfollin OPEC and Russia are exporting. They set the price of oil. We purchase from OPEC. When we were independent and exporting, our prices were lower and we didn't have to worry about what others were charging. They had to follow our lead. Now, we have to pay whatever price OPEC sets. With Russia at war, their prices have already been raised several times in the last 12 months and OPEC then raises their price. Because Russia and OPEC set prices, the cost and possibly the availability is in question. I have no idea what Biden was thinking when he made the decision to reverse the policy made by Trump. He KNEW what that would mean to Americans and others. And did it anyway. Sanctions on Russia banking may not have any effect unless the energy banking sector is targeted.

@Vikingswest1 I don't know, but I do know that Trump didn't think much at all about the American people. I don't listen to the news much any more because it is too depressing.
