Caught in a Deep Thread?

These are discussions, and some of us like me (you know who I am, a windbag) like to get caught up in deep threads.
That is...you know...discussions.
Especially when you have two or three people getting into it, and that actually happens quite a lot, it can become quite difficult sometimes to navigate and keep up with what someone is specifically responding to.
When it gets like that I tend to use italics and copy and paste the comment I am specifically responding to so that when the person gets their notification and finds the comment, they can more easily follow along.
Very few people do this, but I wish more people would. It would make following a deep thread much less confusing.

I totally agree; but I probably won't do this. :-)

I think that's why I give up after a while. It does tend to make it hard to follow. Not that deep threads are bad. They benifit those involved, and are strongly encouraged.

Good advice. Just today, by the time I responded to a notification on a discussion, a half dozen responses had already been entered ahead of me.

I started doing that thanks to you, if needed. Though sometimes people still don't get what I am referring to.
