Caught in a Deep Thread?

These are discussions, and some of us like me (you know who I am, a windbag) like to get caught up in deep threads. That is...you know...discussions. Especially when you have two or three people getting into it, and that actually happens quite a lot, it can become quite difficult sometimes to navigate and keep up with what someone is specifically responding to. When it gets like that I tend to use italics and copy and paste the comment I am specifically responding to so that when the person gets their notification and finds the comment, they can more easily follow along. Very few people do this, but I wish more people would. It would make following a deep thread much less confusing.

It does really help, I think. But like I said, hardly anyone else does it. So, it never helps me. lol

@porwest It takes time, most are too busy to do it I believe.

I totally agree; but I probably won't do this. :-)

I think that's why I give up after a while. It does tend to make it hard to follow. Not that deep threads are bad. They benifit those involved, and are strongly encouraged.

Use the italics and copy and paste. It will makes things much easier to follow. That was the point of my post. So that more people will do it and get more out of a discussion and more out of the purpose of this site.

Good advice. Just today, by the time I responded to a notification on a discussion, a half dozen responses had already been entered ahead of me.

lol. Some of the threads can really become daunting tasks to tackle. There are several of us here who "talk" back and forth and it can be really confusing if people don't do the italics thing to help someone follow along.

That's a very good idea and it works well.

Makes it much easier to keep up, I think. I wish more people did it when things get two or three people going back and forth.

On some of my posts discussions are continuing days after l posted - and l am not involved ha, ha,ha. However l am happy to see it - my post is like a chat room where members can discuss to their heart's content.

That just means you are posting thought provoking stuff people want to talk about. That's a good thing. lol

I started doing that thanks to you, if needed. Though sometimes people still don't get what I am referring to.
