Look who is peaking out from under the porch. This is our 9-month old Corgi puppy. She is enjoying exploring under the back steps. This beautiful little girl has spent the last week recovering from surgery. We had her spayed.
Keeping her quiet has been a challenge. She was ready to start running around the backyard a couple of days after we brought her home.
Having a Corgi in the house has been a new experience for us. Over the thirty-plus years we've been married, my wife and I have had several dogs: Labradors, Brittanies, a rescued mutt, and a rescued mini-Schnauzer. Learning to live with a Corgi has been an adventure.

think they used to be used for cattle herding in Wales , they bite the ankles of the cows to keep them moving

@58lordstreet Yes, the Corgi is a herding dog. They still train them to do herding work. I tried to convince my missus to let me get a couple of pygmy goats for Sophie to herd. I got the look.

I like your dog a lot even though I have never owned a Corgi dog before.

Did you get her from a Corgi rescue? I have the same kind of step design and framing on my house.

We got Sophie as a puppy at 8 weeks. My missus had a longing to raise a puppy. In truth, I think she was looking for a grandbaby substitute as neither of our adult sons has yet graced us with grandchildren, nor does it appear they will in the foreseeable future.
Ace, my mini-Schnauzer, is a rescue we adopted when he was, we think, 5 years old.

If it is good enough for Queen Elizabeth what better recommendation is that. I think she has had around 30 over the years!
