I Threw Caution To The Wind

The idiom "Throwing caution to the wind" means to do something without worrying too much about the risks - to stop being careful, being a bit reckless.
So how did l throw caution to the wind. Well, breakfast is usually my main meal of the day, larger than lunch or dinner.
However considering the small portions of food l eat my breakfast is not really large.
But last Sunday l decided to have a really large spread - not thinking about how my stomach would feel afterwards .
Thankfully l had no ill after effects, but l skipped lunch and have no plans to indulge again any time soon.
Do you ever throw caution to the wind? If so , when was the last time you
did it?

I did it last night at a get together after the evening church service with lots of yummy finger foods and snacks. I ate way too much fudge and other sweets.

@Kandae11 It's absolutely my weakness. And I'm trying to lose five pounds before our granddaughter's wedding!

Oh I am glad you had no ill effects from it Kandase.
It doesn't hurt surely once in a while to indulge.
You deserve it
Lately, I do not indulge or throw caution to the wind. My healthy forbids it.

I have done that on occasions but do not like to do it with food. Reason being I have to always budget and at times I make something more than usual then wind up tasting it and discover I don't like it and usually have to throw it away,

About five months ago, we stopped at the Great Wall for dinner. It's a wonderful Chinese restaurant with excellent food. They don't have indoor dining, because of Covid. They have a limited menu board, with various types of stir-fried meals/ plus a choice of regular or fried rice. We had to select two dinner choices, plus rice. Oh my gosh, these were huge servings! Both Jay and I couldn't believe, how much food we got. We ate about 1/2 our meal, and our stomachs were stuffed! I never eat this much, normally.

I'm a bit lactose intolerant, so eating ice cream makes me nervous. The other night Hubby made malted vanilla milk shakes with whipped cream for dessert - and I debated whether I should really eat it or not. Of course I ate it
. . . at least it was a small portion and luckily it did not bother my stomach after all
. Still I was nervous about eating it

I do. Last week I got some bagel bites that I thought would be good. I bought a few boxes and I found out they were ok.

I am glad you did not have after effects from the larger breakfast that it sounds like you are not used to. When I overeat I feel so full and hate doing it. Yes, I do throw caution to the wind but cannot think of when I last did it. I would say last week when I ate a little bit more than I should have. I only eat two meals a day. After my 2nd meal I could relax a little but was still stuffed because I should have not eaten more. I should have stopped.

@Kandae11 SO true. Blah! Oh hotdish - is a regional thing here. Some places call it "casserole" and there's lots of kinds. Basically it comes down to a starch, a meat or protein, and a vegetable (sometimes) in some kind of sauce all together. An all in one meal. Last nights was Chow Mein noodles, cream soup, celery and onion and ground turkey

Breakfast is a really important part of the day. That's good that you know how to adjust your food intake naturally.
