The Storm Is Over?

In many countries around the world major Covid restrictions have been lifted. Infections are on the downward trend , and life as we knew it , seems to be slowly making its way back.
Don't be fooled, the storm isn't over..
Covid is still here, lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting and unprepared. So continue to be alert and aware.
Since the pandemic began, did you or any member of your household experience any serious Covid related issues ?.
I recall one night an elderly relative who suffers from severe arthritis fell ill during the night and needed to get to the hospital urgently.
It was during curfew hours , and no one except members of the essential services was allowed on the street.
We were told that the police could be called in emergency situations like that, so we called them. They came and took him and his caregiver to the hospital, then brought them home after he was treated.
I hated those curfews - they were stifling.

You are right, the storm is not over. Our country lifted all restrictions 2 weeks ago and today we are back to the same number of cases as two months ago.
My husband needed to be rushed to the ER, we never had curfew hours here, he needed immediate attention (he had a heart attack), I had to be tested before they let me in to be with him.

Covid is still here and still causing deaths. Big Business here is behind the push for everything to return to "normal" because the money wasn't coming in as fast as it used to so they're using their money to push the country into making the virus "endemic", just like the flu.

@Kandae11 People here wouldn't follow the restrictions after they went into effect. Most wouldn't wear the masks if you paid them. They were sure Covid was all a hoax after the idiot Trump told them it was a hoax. Now, even with Trump telling them it's real, they don't believe it.
The idiots rule here.

@DaddyEvil Same thing here. In the middle of the pandemic they hid and kept illegal parties - even in the woods. The police had their hands full chasing after them.

That is something l have noticed, the governments of some countries seem more concerned about their economies than the health and well-being of the people. On the other hand - after two years of restrictions people are fed up, frustrated and angry. They want things to get back to normal. In this situation governments find themself between a rock and a hard place.

Some restrictions are being lifted here but I'm still taking precautions. I don't think we can just think the virus is gone

It is lurking there, but I was pleased there was no mention of it on the news the other night. Two plus years of hearing about this everyday has worn me out.

I had a mild case of Covid last year in May. The main problem I had was I lost my sense of smell for about 6 months. Thank goodness it is back now.

I'm sure they were stifling. We didn't have those restrictions here. We could go out as necessary during the lockdown.
