The Storm Is Over?

In many countries around the world major Covid restrictions have been lifted. Infections are on the downward trend , and life as we knew it , seems to be slowly making its way back. Don't be fooled, the storm isn't over.. Covid is still here, lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting and unprepared. So continue to be alert and aware. Since the pandemic began, did you or any member of your household experience any serious Covid related issues ?. I recall one night an elderly relative who suffers from severe arthritis fell ill during the night and needed to get to the hospital urgently. It was during curfew hours , and no one except members of the essential services was allowed on the street. We were told that the police could be called in emergency situations like that, so we called them. They came and took him and his caregiver to the hospital, then brought them home after he was treated. I hated those curfews - they were stifling. Image by pixabay.

You are right, the storm is not over. Our country lifted all restrictions 2 weeks ago and today we are back to the same number of cases as two months ago. My husband needed to be rushed to the ER, we never had curfew hours here, he needed immediate attention (he had a heart attack), I had to be tested before they let me in to be with him.

So you had to be tested before you could be with him? - and something as serious as a heart attack? I mean you are both in the same house so both of you could have had the virus.

@Kandae11 - He had to be rushed inside, he was tested while they took care of him. Before they let me in I was tested and I can understand, they have to protect the patients inside the hospital.

@LadyDuck l see. He was tested also. You are right, there would be concern for the other patients - and the doctors too.

I was tested positive in September 2021 with mild symptoms. I recovered within 3 days. However, in November 2021 my uncle got covid and unfortunately lost his fight to covid

Oh dear ! I am so sorry to hear that your uncle didn't make it. You had mild symptoms and recovered in three days. Were you vaccinated when you got it?

Covid is still here and still causing deaths. Big Business here is behind the push for everything to return to "normal" because the money wasn't coming in as fast as it used to so they're using their money to push the country into making the virus "endemic", just like the flu. Screenshot is mine.

@Kandae11 People here wouldn't follow the restrictions after they went into effect. Most wouldn't wear the masks if you paid them. They were sure Covid was all a hoax after the idiot Trump told them it was a hoax. Now, even with Trump telling them it's real, they don't believe it. The idiots rule here.

@DaddyEvil Same thing here. In the middle of the pandemic they hid and kept illegal parties - even in the woods. The police had their hands full chasing after them.

That is something l have noticed, the governments of some countries seem more concerned about their economies than the health and well-being of the people. On the other hand - after two years of restrictions people are fed up, frustrated and angry. They want things to get back to normal. In this situation governments find themself between a rock and a hard place.

Some restrictions are being lifted here but I'm still taking precautions. I don't think we can just think the virus is gone

Rightly said. I agree. We need to be cautious all the time. Glad they were treated. Yes curfews were worst time we all suffered

It is lurking there, but I was pleased there was no mention of it on the news the other night. Two plus years of hearing about this everyday has worn me out.

Following the news it seems like things are back to normal in Florida. With those kind of events l don't see how they can keep a social distance. We can only pray and hope for the best.

I'm glad the police did their job. Several of my friends experienced Covid. Only my friend's father passed away. He was in his 80s.

We were without covid for a couple years but now we've opened our borders and our numbers are climbing. It will be a while before things settle down here.

I had a mild case of Covid last year in May. The main problem I had was I lost my sense of smell for about 6 months. Thank goodness it is back now.

I'm sure they were stifling. We didn't have those restrictions here. We could go out as necessary during the lockdown.

I think they just found something else to worry them more to be honest
