Scrambled day

Yesterday the Hillsboro district announced an early dismissal today of 11:30. So we made plans for picking them up. Someone will cover my position. This morning the Marion school district announced a two hour delay due to weather. Since the Hillsboro kids live in our district, the will be picked up late. The idea is not to have the transportation running on bad roads. So then they will get to school for about two hours. We will pick them up, take them home early and that will be our day, except for one student who lives and attends in Marion. I do not know if I have ever explained: I ride the bus with students in Florence, who go to Hillsboro, plus we pick up one later in Marion who attends in Marion. He is my all day student. I have been handling phone calls and texts about today since 6:a.m.

The bad weather isn't supposed to hit us until tomorrow. Today is supposed to reach 52F. We'll have to get out this afternoon to pick up our meds from the pharmacy. Why are they going for such a short day? I'd think it would be more cost effective to call school off. I hope you enjoy your work day.

The kids that were not coming from our district had a longer day and I bet they stayed long enough to count for state aid or something.

It sounds like you are bouncing around all day. I worked with ESE middle school students for years. It isn't an easy job but it sure is rewarding.

Is that the "new" word they're using instead of "torture" now? Interesting.

That does sound like a mess. Should just cancel classes.

Our district has cancelled so many I think they have to be careful now so we do not have to make them up.
