I have been thinking about bees lately. I have been wondering how they are doing and what their most recent stats are. I am relatively sure that others probably wonder too. So, I decided to post about these little critters. Here is the first in a series, some basic information about bees:
* Bees Have 5 Eyes and 6 legs.
* The male bee of the hive is called a drone, the female bee is a worker bee.
* Bees fly about 20 mph.
* An average bee can bring back a pollen load of about 35% of the bee's body weight.
* An average worker honey bee lives for 6 weeks during the summer, then it dies and becomes part of the wax comb in the hive.
* The first 3 weeks of a worker bee's life are spent inside the hive.
* The average life span of a queen bee is three to five years.

I didn't know that the worker honey bee becomes part of the wax comb.
