Over the weekend I saw some of the wild violets sprouting out in the yard. They are here and there. I noticed some in a clover patch and some by the chicken coops. They are such a pretty shade of purple.
I thought I would share a photo with you, although this one is from Pixabay.because my photo that I snapped today hasn't come through yet. Ah the cons of living in the boonies!! Cloudy sky and you have connection problems.
Have you noticed any wild violets in your yard? They have heart shaped leaves and are a pretty but small flower and plant.

We had those all over the yard at the other house but there aren't any in this yard. The other yard also was covered in bright pink fall crocus, too. (I mowed both down as soon as they started to flower.

@kareng I didn't want my yard to be pink! My aunt lived in that house for years before I moved into it. She planted everything that was invasive and flowered in the most terrible colors! I was hoping if I mowed the flowers down every year the plants would give up. I was wrong.
You sound like the lady that was walking past the first time I mowed the fall crocus down. She screamed at me that I was "destroying" the beauty of the neighborhood. I called the cops. They told her to worry about her property and let me worry about mine.
Found it! Photo is mine.

@kareng It's easy to make and they are nice to decorate cakes and pastries.
Wash the violets and let dry. Pick up a violet by the stem. Dip the flower into a beaten egg white, coating the entire flower. Shake off excess egg white. Sift powdered sugar over the flower and let dry.

Love the wild violets. They haven’t popped up yet, but soon, hopefully.
