Now I need to find a plumber

I am not really surprised, my sewer line needs "snaked" out. It has been about three years.
I know I have tree roots. I used to keep them in check by putting salt in my homemade laundry soap. I have not done that in a while. Quit making a homemade powdered soap, because it would not dissolve in my "High Efficiency" washer.
Besides killing tree roots, salt helps your clothes not to fade.
I guess I can just go back to putting salt in my drains, but meanwhile, I get to try to find a plumber to help me.

@GardenGerty It does make sense. I should have thought of it. After all, I've seen the effects of salt water invading upstream during droughts and storms and killing off the trees along the river.

@DWDavis I have never lived long term near anything coastal. Just a few months near San Diego and I know that only certain plants could grow in the beachy areas because of the salt.

I have hated it since we moved here because for a long time I could not get one who would come out. It can be expensive but if they do it right I do not need them often.

Hope you can get it cleared. I had never heard that about the salt before.

Found one, and he was pleasant, prompt, and reasonable. Last time I had this problem I called and called plumbers for three or four days before I found one.

In the past I have had a problem even getting anyone to come no matter what their rates. I was pleased, he was here less than an hour after I called him. I will do business with him again.

Yes,, I own my house so I pay for the upkeep. Now if the blockage was in the city sewer they would clear it. It is not, though, it is in my lines.

@GardenGerty Oh I see, I didn't know you own it. Yes that is the one thing about ownership..you have to pay for it. I hope it gets fixed now.

It was $200, and he does not charge a travel fee. It was his flat fee. I expected worse.

I used to have a problem finding a plumber, but I found one nearby that would work.
