Road Trip!

I haven't been online tonight because I ended up taking a road trip!! Where did I go? I went to my daughter's house in Lafayette, LA.
My daughter called right when she got off work today because she didn't have a babysitter for her daughter for Thursday. The day care she goes to has the children all passing around a stomach virus and the owners are down with it now and one of their children. So the daycare is closed tomorrow.
I was winding down from the day and about to put dinner on when she called. My husband said he didn't care if I left, so I packed and hit the road!
I didn't get here until around 11:30 pm. but I will be here in the morning and my daughter can leave at her regular time for work. My granddaughter tried to stay up and wait for me to get here but she fell asleep. Maybe she will sleep late--we will see. Either way, we will have a fun day!
So, I'm propped up in bed trying to catch up on a few notifications.

I had a terrible time falling asleep today. Pretty forced me to take her shopping and, after turning on the air conditioner in the house, I finally fell asleep from 6 pm until around 10 pm. That was my entire day.
I hope your granddaughter isn't sick tomorrow. I hate taking care of a sick kid.

She has already had it last week. My daughter has already used up all her personal time off for the year with everyone coming down with Covid and this bug is going on two weeks now making the rounds at the daycare. Her backup babysitter left on vacation this morning so I was elected.
The AC is on here too. I may get cold tonight but it is warmer here than at home.

@kareng I turned the air conditioner off around 10 pm. Our low tonight is supposed to be 55F and the low for the week is supposed to be around 40F, (Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow night.)

@DaddyEvil Uh huh, that rain is getting you!! We have some for morning hours tomorrow but then a dry spell until Tuesday.
Yes, they are all recovered. Yay!

When there was a snowstorm, all four of my daughter's children were at home. Kaity was only three, at the time. Of course, Grandma was the one who came to babysit. This was only two miles from my home.

You're a lifesaver for your daughter! No, all us as usual for me. Did go to my podietrist. All is good, no follow up appointment.

Brinley has been having fun today. She should sleep very well tonight and be out around 8! She has refused a nap and I didn't push it since her mother said she usually goes and lays down if she is tired. You can look at her face and see that she is tired but she doesn't want to give in!

It would be better if she would be up front and say, "Hey mom, can you stay Thursday AND Friday with Brinley?" and not "Mom, can you watch Brinley for me Thursday?" This is the second time that she has done this. I didn't bring any extra clothes with me to stay an extra day.
