It would seem that some people have discovered the formula for staying young ! -- like vintage wine they look better with age. Are they doing something special or is it in the genes? Some recommendations from the experts include : 1 - Getting enough sleep 2 - Drinking enough water - afterall our bodies are somewhere around %60 water. 3- Exercise 4- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables 5- Increase intake of vitamins and minerals 6-Go easy on the sugar, salt and saturated fats 7-Reduce stress. How many of the above do you follow? Are you prepared to give up what brings you pleasure in order to have good health and longevity? What will you not give up ? Image by pixabay.

I need to try 6 and 7!! Donuts are my comfort and happiness food. And stress, I can't seem to get rid of no matter how hard I try. I'm going to get back to an apple a day and more orange juice and vitamin C

@Kandae11 Dunkin donuts is donut heaven. Hearing good things about Krispy Kreme, must try. But I must remember your 7 suggestions for healthy living and not start a discussion on donuts and icecream, LOL

Lack of exercise and stress are bogging me down. Can’t wait for the mud to dry up so I can go outside with Little Miss!

@Kandae11 Well it’s cooler again today and the ground has stiffened up a bit. Hopefully will get some warmer weather to thaw the ground and get the moisture to come out.

Getting out in the great outdoors will do a whole lot of good. I hope the mud dries up very soon.

Every now and again, I must have salty or sugary, but not to excess. I also believe, as well as the great recommendations given there that a treat once in a while will also stave off boredom and help us to feel fulfilled, something that I think we need also to stay healthy, at least in mind. I am one that cannot be so disciplined forever. Of course, it there as no access to salt or sugary treats, then I would just have to be healthy without them.

I believe in moderation in everything. We need sodium in our diet , but it begins to cause problems when we use too much of it, - same as with sugar. If it came down to giving up everything l love for perfect health - l would, but l think it is a bit too late for that. The most l do now is cut back. I have my treats every now and then.

These are very sensible suggestions however old you are. Mostly I believe in moderation in all things. I do try to keep my weight within reasonable limits.

I try to do all of the above. The key to a healthy life. I will not give up my one cup of coffee each morning.

I do the above but still feel fairly stressed. I could eat more fruits and veggies though.

I have some fruit trees in my yard, which helps. Everything is getting more expensive now - even market stuff like fruits and vegetables.
