Saturday Night Crash

I went to the Farmer's Market Saturday after only 3 hours of sleep. That is what determination will allow. I fought all week to get things ready and had one thing after another come at me to keep me away.
I won! I made it on time and we got all set up with no problems. The wind was blowing pretty hard and we had brought cement blocks to put the lets of the tent in to keep it from blowing over. One vendor did lost their tent as a gust took it down the hill toward the river. Several of the men went to get this ladies' tent.
We had another couple next to us that made wall hangings and signs. They had some nice things and were very friendly. They also had a 5 month old mini dachshund so I had fun playing with him. His name was Blue for his blue eyes.
We also had a lady behind us that brought her radio, so we had good 70's and 80's music going in the background. This lady had a boutique and had a couple of racks of clothing. She also had problems with the wind where one side of her tent went down and it took a rack of clothing. We all pitched in and helped her get everything set back up.
It was a fun day and I made several new contacts, have samples to send out (that box did not get loaded into the van) and one prospective new team member.
We probably will not be going back there as the hours are 9-4. Vendors can leave at 2 pm BUT you cannot bring your vehicle into the market area so you would have to tote all of your stuff, including tent several hundred yards to your car. There were three of us on an end aisle that had had enough of the wind and decided to leave at 2 pm. We brought our cars through as soon as we could get them in and parked on the end. Someone ratted on us and they came and told the lady that was alone that cars were not allowed in the market area during shopping times. They did not say anything to the other two parties that had men there with them. Such wusses!! This ticked my hubby off so I'm sure we won't be going back there.
We came home and opted for a nap after unloading the car. My husband got up around 6 pm to eat and stayed up. I dozed but heard the chickens making noise but tried to go back asleep. The next time I heard them I got up and asked hubby to check the coops, as the noise at that time was unusual. Well my dog got lose and decided to tear into the grow out pen. Yes, this is the pen where Little Miss Bad Girl lived, the only chick that survived my last batch of eggs hatched last year. She didn't make it but her roommate survived. Hubby went out at just the right time to keep the second chicken safe.
That's how my Saturday went. I'm bummed about losing that chicken, as she was very spoiled and my favorite hen. Maybe I should have stayed home!!
Curious to see if you would go back to that Farmer's Market if you couldn't move your car to pack up at the early time to leave?
Back to catching up here on myLot Land!!

As for moving your car when it is time to leave to make it easier to pack I think they should let you do that.

Yes especially since that area is wide open. Four cars could actually stay parked there and be out of the way. But they wouldn't let us park there, but those on outside of market park right there. What was bad was they told the lady that was there by herself and didn't tell us or the couple next to us. They expected HER to tell us we couldn't park cars there to pick up at 2. We had to haul our stuff through the market and parking lot. Might be a rule and made due to safety but if someone did run over somebody their insurance would be the one to cover not them.

@kareng That is stupid and if there was plenty of room I don’t see why they would not let you do it it is not like you are going to be staying there for a long period of time just long enough to pack your stuff up

Did your dog get to eat his prize?
If that much stuff kept happening during the week leading up to the Farmer's Market, I wouldn't have gone at all.

@DaddyEvil He was good around the chickens until we had those Jack Russel mixed stray dogs show up. They were always after the chickens.

Thanks for the update. Sorry it was so windy. I wouldn't go if I had to carry things too far. I am so sorry you lost a chick. That is so sad.

Sorry about Little Miss Bad Girl. She was a fun baby.
I would maybe give them one more try.
