Do you recall that Russia invaded Ukraine in February and March 2014? . On that occasion the Crimean Peninsula was annexed from the Ukraine. Annexed meaning-- to take or appropriate, especially without permission. Then in the 1930's there was the big famine which killed millions of Ukrainians. Lots of trouble over the decades for the Ukrainians, but they seem to be hardy people who are bearing their trials. How would you feel if you lived in a country where war was brewing? Would you stay or try to leave? Image by pixabay

I remember very well that Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, Putin was already President of Russia. May be that now it is just to annex Donbas, even if I fear it is more serious. I would live, I am not Patriotic enough to risk my life.

@marlina They are moving out of Ukraine first and then they try to reach a safe country. There are already 3.9 millions refugees from Ukraine, I suspect they do not trust so much their Government and they think they cannot win.

This time around Putin has bigger things in mind than what he had in 2014 - then it was just the beginning. Over a million children have already been displaced - and for what? I would understand if it was a natural disaster.

I can't really imagine what I'd do. It would be hard to get away from here at our age.

@Kandae11 We would only need Indonesia to invade us. They have a huge population for starters - many more people than us.

@Kandae11 I meant the USA, but Ohio would be more perfect even. Sorry but I wouldn't want to be on that island at all. Looks to much like here Florida and this place is not so safe for me.

I would have to decide if I had anything to lose by staying. If it's even possible.

It might, or it might not. It's called picking your battles. Weighing the risks, and making the decisions based on what would produce the best outcome. Some people don't often flea a situation, because the chance of them getting killed trying, is higher than if they just stayed put and waited it out. Everytime a hurricane comes near us, we have to decide if it's better to stay, or better to leave.@Kandae11

Well if your life was in real danger , and your family as well. That would help you make a decision.

Its like the child in school who is constantly harassed by the big bully. Talking about bullying in schools , it is quite prevalent. It bothers me when it happens to kids even though it never happened to me or my only son.

I would try to leave if war was imminent. I would have to pray to God for direction. This is petrifying. But God give us strength. And May God give the Ukrainians strength.
