Each one got one

When I was a kid in school, each child got a small plastic comb to tidy their hair before pictures. That does not seem to happen any more. I am trying to think and I THINK they have a comb on the photographer's table for all to share. A parent helps the kids get ready. We are not supposed to share combs, so maybe there is not one available at all. We also only got pictures once a year. Now we have fall and spring pictures, and a year book of the kids. Today is school picture day. Wish me luck with my kiddo. He usually does well.

I remember we were going to have a photo taken at my school and the photographer lined us all up and he came down the line and said, fine, fine, fine, if your hair was OK, and if he came to someone who's hair wasn't quite up to scratch, he'd say comb it. I don't know if they had a comb on them or if they had to borrow one!

I think when I was at school, we only had photos once every several years but maybe Mum didn't buy the photos every year.

I think we struggled and bought them every year. When my kids were younger, or even as teens I was shocked to find that people did not buy school pictures, because they felt they were over priced for what you got, and that is true.

@GardenGerty It can be hard to say sometimes to these sorts of things, especially if it's a fund-raiser of some kind.

I remember that one comb that all were to share - which was weird because with lice and such going around (and now covid), I thought it wasn't a good idea to share combs . In my time too, there were only photos once a year. For my kids we only purchase the fall photos - but they have it twice a year too. My first yearbook was from 6th grade elementary - but now they have it for every grade in elementary. Good luck with today's picture day!

His class was called while I was finishing lunch, but my relief person texted me and I got down there. Together we helped speak up for him to be posed as much like the others as possible.

I think they helped us with our hair.

I think they did too. Now I do not see that so much.

One picture, no combs when I went through school. I don't understand multiple pictures nowadays.

You would think it would not be so common, but I guess it is a school related industry.

I always have to be there to speak up. His parents prefer him not to be in his wheel chair but posed as much like the others as possible. He is not a child that you can distract or draw his attention. He really enjoys the experience, and would like to explore. All that being said, the photographers always seem to take extra time to finally get good shots.

Yeah, we only had pictures once a year, and no combs in sight.

Kids in those days took care themselves earlier than kids today. Kids definitely love the school picture day.
