Are you a goal setter?

I am sure most, if not all of us have set out personal or professional goals. When looking at a goal with a long time horizon it's important to celebrate the small victories. Especially when there are days or weeks where it looks like there is little or no progress. Remember there are things we can and can't control. We can control our actions, what we can't control are the results of those actions.

That's so well said. We have a control over ourselves and our actions. Situations and results are not in our control. I keep short term daily goals for myself. I want mu days to be active and productive.

Action and production should most definitely get you hitting those short-term goals regularly.

@Louieooh Yes, they do. And it's a blessing to be busy and look forward to something each day

This is a good motivational thought indeed. End results may vary but the least we can do is try our best.

I love that! "respond in the results of our actions" could you elaborate on that?

Sometimes I have small goals, but the big goal I have is to get married and go and live in Cardiff, and that's not going to happen any time soon!

I don't think I have set a career goal for myself. I've been doing the same job for more than ten years and haven't changed. I'm dissatisfied with my practice, but I haven't changed the current situation

@Louieooh I'm still content with the status quo and living without ambition

The fact that you are able to recognize your dissatisfaction and share that is a small win to celebrate. Your courage is admirable. What will you do about your situation?

Yes, I am a huge goal setter. My friend and I set our goals every January and keep in touch throughout the year to see how we each are progressing. I could never just drift through life without setting goals.

I used to do it, but I don't set goals anymore. I personally think that when I set goals, I'm constantly living in the future, looking to the next achievement. My focus is rarely in the present. At least, that's how I was when I set goals all the time. And, honestly, that kind of mentality is exhausting. But I applaud those consistent goal setters!
