My Desktop's CPU Died

I felt so bad today. I cannot work with my desktop now. Now, I am using my laptop to work online. I must admit that I am not comfortable working with it. I prefer using a desktop because the work pace is faster than this one. You might be thinking that I should buy a new one. With a tight budget, I am not taking it as an option for now. Are you more productive using a mobile phone, desktop, or laptop? Image Credit: miro.medium.com

Sorry to hear that. How old is your desktop? I think a desktop's usual life is about 3-4 years after that it usually conks out even you maintain that it will come to a point that they will stop and just stop working.

@Shavkat Yes and trying to repair that could just mean more expensive than buying a new one. One thing that makes them obsolete is the constant upgrade of software and the demands for a much faster processor is always making old PCs die out because of the demands of new software that these old PC cannot accommodate anymore,

You are right that I have been using it for more than 3 years. It really needs to buy a new one.

Really depends on what I'm doing. I do prefer using my laptop for work. Hope you get it fixed or get a new one real soon.

I asked a friend to check it out on Sunday. If it really did not work, I am going to buy it sooner or later.

I too prefer a desktop. As yet I have not bought a laptop but I imagine it would be difficult and as for my phone I wouldn't even want to try to do what I do on a desktop.

I am having a hard time teaching online now. I cannot even go here for a long time because the laptop might hang.

I'm sorry your desktop is having problems. I'm using a laptop. I just got a new one but haven't started using it. I don't take my smartphone online.

@Shavkat Because I haven't set up the new one yet and haven't been feeling very well for several day. My eyes are swollen almost shut. *shrug* Excuses, I know, but I'm used to my old laptop. I've been using it for almost ten years.

I am happiest working on my desk top too. Many times I thought about getting a laptop but I don't know if I'd be happy with it or spending the money on it.

I have a laptop but it sits on a desk. It no longer works off its battery so I have to have it plugged in.

Oh, dear! I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm using my tablet. It's an Amazon Fire tablet that my brother bought me when he knew I wanted a tablet. I'm interested in getting a Cromebook. I wonder if my brother would buy me one of those?!

I am so jealous if you would have it. I hope a friend would be able to fix it if it is still possible.
