Oreo Has A Nice Memorial

Visited my neighbor just now. He lost his dog, Oreo last week. She had a seizure and was gone. He is so lost now. His wife passed almost 4 years ago. Her dog as well. He said she would meet him at his bedroom door every morning. He cooked all of her food. And now he said it is so quiet. He teared up. So I changed the subject and commented on how beautiful her memorial garden is. The shells around the garden were from trips to the beach he and his wife made. So very special. And she is buried right next to his wife's rock garden. Her favorite place in the yard he said. I told him to hold onto the happy times. So sad to see him hurting. I know time will help him. Glad I went to visit. Photo is mine. There are solar lights all around that I see at night. A link below of a story I wrote about Oreo recently.
My neighbor's dog was walking down the street earlier. But without my neighbor. Very unusual as he walks with her, always. She is small, looks just like the...

That is very nice. I had my cats cremated and scattered in the garden, where they used to sleep in the sun. I like the idea of their ashes being blown by the wind, freely wandering like cats should

It looks like such a loving little space for Oreo to rest in peace and hopefully provide his master with some comfort seeing that to try to block out the last few minutes of his life which must have been very traumatic.

He is so proud of the memorial. And spent a lot of time to make it special. There is a beautiful rock garden beside it that his wife made and loved. Yes, it was traumatic for him. I talked about the first time I saw her and a few memories I had. He laughed a little

@CarolDM Hopefully when the weather turns nice you can help him plant a pretty little plant or shrub near the 2 gardens to bridge them together.

The memorial is definitely beautiful and so thoughtfully made. Good that you visited him. That was a kind neighbourly gesture.

@CarolDM I am so so sorry about Oreo. I can understand how hard it must be for him that he lost his wife and then the dog. Do you think he will get another dog?

That is a very nice memorial, We buried out first cat beneath our tall oak tree and put up a big stone that looked just like a grave stone and then we could visit and put flowers at times.
