Yesterday it rained long and hard. The hollow places in the yard below turned into a vast lake and the birds were thrilled. I saw ducks, egrets, and a roseate spoonbill. I was excited because I have never seen one before.
A spoonbill has a long, flat bill that it uses to scoop up food. It is pink and at first, I thought it was a flamingo. I looked at it with binoculars and saw it was a spoonbill. I love watching the birds when I visit here.
Have you seen any unusual birds? Where did you see them?

I'm not able to go out or go to a part of the house I might see any, but when we lived in the other house and the back yard flooded sometimes, I would see a pair of beautiful wild ducks playing in the puddles and the male would stretch out his wings so proudly. A beautiful sight.
