Naughty Boys at School

This is about the mean little boys that walked to school with us. They were brothers. William and J. T. . They lived just below us and they joined us every morning as we passed by. They were sneaky and would run up behind the girls flip up our dresses and try to pull down our panties. Other boys would try to chase them away but they wouldn’t leave the girls alone. Finally the little boys that were supposed to watch after me told my mother. She was so mad. She grabbed my hand and here we went down the road. We got to their house and my mother told me to tell their mother what they were doing. That lady took out a belt, called the boys in and gave them both a good lashing. We could hear the boys crying as we headed back home and that was the end of their naughtiness. After that we walked to school and back home in peace.

Back in the day parents could punish their children. Today they can't be physical; and children are out of control.

@RubyHawk yes and we knew that if we disrespected any adult it would be punishment, even if it wasn't our parents.

Right, We knew what to expect if we misbehaved. Kids today don’t have the discipline we did.

@bunnybon7 Absolutely no disrespect was allowed. Not like today when the child disrespects a teacher and the parents take up for the child.

Good for your mama! It's also refreshing to hear of a parent punishing their child when they do something so terribly wrong. Nowadays, parents act like their kids are angels.

I don’t know if a child is ever punished for wrongdoing. So what can we expect?

Those boys were indeed naughty! Your mother did the right thing to tell the other mother - and boy did she take action. These days parents really don't discipline their kids enough - the naughtiness continues on and on.

@much2say I have no idea. I heard nothing more about them after grade school. They probably grew up to be civilized. They had a good mother to raise them.

I doubt this would happen nowadays but good for your Mum and for their Mum. A whack at the right time can stop a lot of nonsense.
