Sad death of classmate

Philippines
April 15, 2022 10:51am CST
I just learned today that my classmate from college has died. It was at the back of my mind after seeing his latest picture. At first I thought he only had kidney failure like my dad. But as I looked at his progress, he really started loosing weight geatly. Until his last picture which you could see his neck. But then I learned from another classmate that it was actually Chronic Kidney Disease. Maybe it's a wake up call for me to watch what I eat.

Sorry to hear about your college classmate. I have a few friends from school who passed away in the past few years. They were my age . . . and yah, it makes you think more about your own health and mortality.

@Letranknight2015 Life is truly unfair at times . . . it is sad that he was taken way too young. You are still younger than many of us . . . improving healthy habits can start right now.

@Letranknight2015 If modern medicine can't help cure your dad. Try other alternatives like mangagamot. To be honest I trust mangagamot / faith healers than doctors or modern medicine.

How sad. I hate looking through my junior high school yearbook, knowing how many of my classmates have passed away. And I’m young (or so I consider myself), so a number of these people were my age or a year or two younger! My sympathies to you and your friend’s family.

Sorry to know about your classmate's passing. It's a sad fact that many people here in the Philippines suffer from kidney-related illnesses. We've had friends and relatives who had to deal with dialysis treatment for years. It's probably because our local dishes are mostly salty. We also tend to eat a lot but not exercise a lot.

Sadly, Diet and exercise go hand in hand. You can't afford to be too much on the other. Not to mention it was hard to be consistent @almostoveryou If only lettuce were not that expensive.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and yes, we shouldn't wait till we get older to start watching what we eat.
