I Have This Weird Thing

Sort of embarrassing to write about but I will.
I have this weird attachment issue. If I have an interaction with someone and it is positive and even sometimes uplifting(and touches me for whatever reason) I can't just move on. I have to have these interactions again. For instance:
When I was in the mental hospital back in 2017 I had the nicest nurse. He was so caring and kind. He really stood out. So, after I had been out and back home for about a week I had to go back and see him.
I've had other interactions like this in my life. The first driver yesterday struck me that way.
Am I weird?

I was the same as you. And I got hurt when I felt like I was being ignored. So I learned to control myself and now I am not like that anymore.

I do control it for the most part. Nice to have nice feelings about some people instead of dread.

No, you're not weird. Did the nurse think you were?

I do the same thing. I also sometimes have a distaste for some for no reason at all.
But I get what you mean. I had a nice nurse once in AZ that after I was out of the hospital I kept in contact on FB for yrs. Until I suddenly realized one day when I had moved here, I'd probably never see her again plus we had little in common.
My favorite lab tech is coming to get some blood tomorrow
in fact.

Same here. My first impression of someone is hard to get around.

I'd say you're unique, and you're only wired if you let yourself believe you are.

Not weird at all it is just that you feel the love and kindness that surround them and you want more, Perhaps one day you will find someone like that who will remain and be friends with you,

Love and kindness should give us a good feeling.

Quite normal. And if one is lucky that friendship can last forever.

This is not weird but that's not good too. It happens sometimes we like a person so much at first sight that we want to meet him/her again and again without knowing that this person also has the same feelings for us. Sometimes such behavior of ours can be harmful to us. So we must be careful.

@celticeagle - Exactly, it is part of the human nature to like some people.

Not really. You have an attachment to people that have been kind to you. Perfectly natural.

Maybe you just enjoy their company because they give you positive vibes, it is not weird to me. And if the other person is also enjoying your company and wants to see you it is ok but if not you are forcing issues and maybe they were just being nice.

You're an empath and that is normal in an abnormal world.
