A Friendly Dog

Today was nice and sunny. A beautiful day. I worked all morning on my photo albums. I still have a long way to go. I talked awhile to my son and daughter in law.
My sons wife is not feeling well. My daughter-in-law called and said she and my other son are sick. They think it’s a minor bug and I hope that’s all it is.
I went on my usual long walk and met a guy walking his dog. I was startled when I saw the dog was off the leash.
The dog walked up to me and I put my hand down so he could sniff it but I was careful to give him the back of my hand. He sniffed it and stood wagging his tail. A nice friendly dog.
I hope you had a pleasant day and sleep well tonight.

You really took a chance I could say I would not do that with a dog who is a stranger to me. Happy all went well though

Slept well last night. It is the weekend and it is my rest day but there are errands that needs to be done so I'll do those while posting here in myLot.

@RubyHawk I can post here in myLot using my phone. I prefer the bigger screen of my laptop but being on mobile has its advantages.

I wish I had a shady place like in your photo to walk but here it's wide open with no trees or water so walking isn't really very pleasant unless its in my yard where I have planted a few trees, that's not the same thing though.
Roscoe is friendly but he has no manners yet. I am working on getting him to calm down some so that when he meets new people he won't jump on them.

I had a good day working on sharing good news stories on this site and doing surveys.

@RubyHawk I guess maybe they want to stay home and recover? You wouldn't want them to make you sick

@snowy22315 That’s why they told me, otherwise they wouldn’t have said a thing. My granddaughter didn’t tell me she had covid until she was well.

I'm glad the dog was friendly. I don't think its nice for that guy to leave his dog off the leash. A neighbor did that once and I was out with my Dalmatian yrs, back. The dog was tiny but ran barking up to my dog that I had on a leash. I was so afraid my dog would hurt it I began to pull on her to retreat. Luckily she was a mindful dog and listened to me. The guy finally picked up his little dog but I was mad because I had just had surgery and the sudden yank I gave her hurt so bad and could have put me straight back in the hospital. Even though he said he was sorry, I cussed him out for being irresponsible. That's how I feel about that.

I had an encounter with a friendly dog today, too! Two people were walking the sweetie in the nature preserve. I asked them if they’d want me to take their picture in front of one of the waterfalls. As I snapped the picture the dog barked on cue.

Sorry that your daughter in law and your other son aren't feeing well. Hope it isn't Covid related and that's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear someone doesn't feel well.
I had a busy weekend and trying to catch up a bit here today.

I see that all the time when I walk my own dog, where other dog owners do not have their dogs on a leash. You keep your fingers crossed and hope like hell that their dog is friendly.

@RubyHawk Sometimes it's easy to tell when they're friendly, but other times you just aren't too sure. It's better to be safe than sorry, and all dog owners should be responsible and keep their pets on a leash at all times.

@moffittjc You are so right. Even a friendly dog will sometimes bite. It’s best not to take chances. My sisters tiny dog was attacked by big doge and it’s taken time for him to heal. The dogs owner should be held responsible.
