Some Vegans Are Hypocrits

I can understand why people become vegan and I respect their endeavors but, I do have some issues that I will express here. I can understand why people may want to eat plant-based foods. It both helps our environment and helps the population of animals used for their meat. I can understand this. And, as with most things, there are those who go a bit overboard about it. I am a full-fledged foodie myself and enjoy meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products. I also enjoy baked goods and chocolate. Recently we were given some plant-based hamburgers. We tried them and spit them out. They were horrible! Don't recall the name brand. I have tried other brands in the past and never liked them. What really gets me about some vegans is that they are hypocrites. Take, for instance, if a plant-based product doesn't have enough of a realistic hamburger(or whatever meat) flavor they sound off about it and the product. I think it is a bit hypocritical to be upset that the product doesn't have enough flavor to their liking. If they were true vegans and hadn't tasted the dreaded meats, then how would they know what they tasted like and that they felt they were missing out on flavor?

Many became vegans in the recent years, to please their partner or to show that they care of animals, so they know very well how the meat tastes.

@celticeagle - The son of a myLotter became vegan because he married a vegan. He surely wanted to please her, but he likes the taste of meat. Those plant based products taste horrible in my opinion.

I don't understand what's so hypocritical about that? Some Vegans start out as urbavors, eating both meat and veggies. Even if this isn't true, if a brand isn't delivering on flavor, don't they have a right to complain about it? If I don't like something and am repeatedly disappointed, I'm going to complain. As I imagine, anyone would.

I imagine its difficult to be a vegan , do you have to avoid all animal products or only those that go in your mouth(I imagine it would be impossible not to use something that comes from an animal)

I am an animal lover and also an active member of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals). I just accept my hypocrisy.

I love vegan products like bags and accessories. In that sense, I can't see myself being a hypocrite no more because I don't use leather bags anymore. That's just my preference, but if others use them, I won't judge and call them on that. However, I love a mixture of vegan foods and chicken etc though. But am I a vegan? No. But do I love vegan-friendly products? Yes.

I think they are hypocrites if they have eaten meat and then turned vegan. Not fair for them to be upset over the flavor of a product when they are supposed to be vegan and not eating such things to begin with.

Yes, indeed. So why complain about something they shouldn't be eating anyway?
