I spent most of this afternoon transferring files from a couple of Dropbox accounts to a new, consolidated Dropbox account. The two old accounts, both of which contained several of my writing files, were then deleted. I ensured the new account is accessible from both my desktop and my laptop. This endeavor saved me the $138 I was going to spend on a portable solid-state hard drive to accomplish being able to take files from my desktop with me where ere I go, such as camping. Does this mean I can claim myLot helped me earn $138 today?

Never used Dropbox, but I have just bought a new 4 TB external HD. I have been recording so much video I have almost filled the computer HD as well as the other externals

I wound up buying the 1TB after the missus reminded me we sometimes camp in places with spotty service and she doesn't want to hear me fuss that I haven't got my files with me.

@Ronrybs It's all I need. 1TB holds a ton of documents. I'm not using it for vids and pics.

Why not? I'd be using that excuse - I mean that reasoning!

My savings didn't last long. After K reminded me of the spotty cell service in some of the campgrounds we frequent, she convinced me to get the SSD anyway. On the bright side, I had two gift cards and some Sam's Club bucks that covered the cost.

@DWDavis Having the cards, etc, would be handy.

I was feeling very proud of myself until the missus reminded me of the times we've been camping and the WiFi or cell signal was spotty to non-existent. So, yeah, I went ahead and ordered the SSD.

Uhm, what if you have no Internet connection while you are in a remote camping trip, the SSD can still be handy.

You and my missus think alike. She convinced me. Yesterday, I ordered the SSD drive. So much for saving that chunk of cash. At least I got my Dropbox situation cleaned up.

I deleted dropbox around last year. I don't see how feasible it was for my tablet at that point of time in the long run.

Dropbox is handy for me to share files between my desktop at home and my laptop when I'm remote.
