As suggested by @JudyEv, I will continue: From time to time we would have skating parties. During Lent we would have to go to church every morning. The church was in the lower level of the building. I don't remember much about Grades 4-7. A new church was constructed on the property; and, after I left the school, the old church in the lower level was converted into a gym. I remember can rolls for those in need, scrubbing the wood floors with steel wool under our feet as we studied, clapping erasers, counting tax stamps and how one of the mean nuns threw a boy up against the clothes closet for something he did/said. In the school yard we would play Red Rover, skip rope or Double Dutch. We moved from East Cleveland to Cleveland Heights; and the school would not allow me to complete 8th grade there and graduate with my class. I had been with the same kids for 8 years (K-7th Grade). The classes had boys and girls in them. The year after I left, the boys and girls were separated; and everyone started to wear uniforms. I'm assuming that they also added a PE program in their new gym. Photo Credit: Pixabay
