I used to journal when I was younger, but I eventually switched to online journals because I felt it was easier. Recently, I got back into journaling in an actual notebook. I have somehow discovered r/Journaling on Reddit, and it inspired me to journal the old-fashioned way lol. It’s also a nice use of my stickers, colorful pens, etc., rather than only using them in my planners. I even have several notebooks that haven’t really been used yet, so they're going to make great journals as others fill up. I’ll write my current thoughts, what’s bothering me, what I’m looking forward to, goals, lists, reflections/reviews, etc. Whatever I feel like writing at the moment. I’m not going to go into specifics because, quite frankly, my journal is for my eyes only. I was unmotivated to write much of anything, online and offline, last week. The motivation to write in my journal returned over the weekend. I haven’t had time to journal today, but maybe I’ll be able to get to it later. Anywho, I just felt like sharing that little tidbit about myself. Do you like to write in a journal? Do you prefer online or offline? I prefer online in a sense of fixing mistakes and whatnot, but I feel using an actual notebook is more customizable because I don’t have to find layouts/templates that suit my needs. I can just create what I want or need at the moment. I can also write whenever I want to rather than waiting until I'm online. Alrighty, I’ll try to be back later! Take care, everyone. My sister and brother-in-law gave it to me for my birthday (with a pink pen) several years ago, because I always post “I love you to the moon and back” on my late Dad’s Facebook wall. I guess it works for my late Mother too.

I’ve kept a journal for years. It’s interesting to look back an see what was happening years ago.

Right! I'm kind of looking forward to reading through it even several months from now.

@tammys85 I want to look at at least one of mine and see what was happening twenty years ago.

I don't do it like I used to, but when I did I preferred online. It was a lot easier in my opinion. I can't hand write anymore so typing is my only option. Or, voice dictation.

That's understandable. I think online is easier in several ways, but I do like the customization of handwriting. Like, I enjoy using my colored pencils to add a splash of color to my journal.

I used to write a personal journal but now that I am on my own I just keep a lot of notebooks jotting down what I write online, what I post and what I want to write up and so on,

That's good. It's almost a form of journaling when you think about it, but I also don't feel there are any "rules" to journaling. Just write down what you want. A few hours ago, I made a list of my goals for today in my journal.

There is something special about actually touching paper, and using cute stickers. Some ASMR effect.
