Johnny Depp, a famous star from such films as Edward Scissorhands and Pirates of the Caribbean, and his ex-wife Amber Heard are going through quite a battle in the courts which could go down in the annals of time as the "couple for the books". He has been in the tabloids for years now regarding his substance abuse. Right now he is suing her for allegedly defaming him, describing herself as a victim of domestic abuse in the amount of $50 million. Heard countersuing him for $100 million. I mean the lawsuits read as some dark comedy. Way dark. There is even an audio recording of Heard starting a physical fight with Depp.
Depp lost a libel lawsuit in 2020 against a U.K. newspaper for describing him as a "wife-beater". There have been records of substance abuse and Depp losing a part of his finger in one of their fights.
As the sex neuroscientist, Dr.Debra Soh, said in an article for the Washington Examiner on April 26 "Abuse should be taken seriously, regardless of the victim's sex."
Only 15% of domestic violence against men is reported. It is estimated that there are 835,000 men assaulted by an intimate partner each year.
For every three victims of domestic violence, two will be female and one will be male.

I'm always sorry to hear about a domestic abuse case. I hope they can work it out.
