I work around 8-10 year old kids all day. The move around a lot.
One kiddo skipped almost everywhere he went today, as long as no teacher saw him and told him to stop. Skipped down the hall to and from the restroom, skipped in from recess.
Kids are practicing for their music concert. They have motions with their songs.They pretend to use a pick ax, or shovel to work on the levee and a sledge hammer to work on the railroad.
Lots of the girls take dance class and they really get into it. The entire class has lots of talent and can carry counter melodies with ease.
It is hard to sit still and be a kid. I am glad they like to things other than just look at screens.
They enjoy tag, and basketball, kickball and scooters for PE. It even makes this grown up want to get up and move.

I'd rather see kids enjoying such activities than just holding their phone or tablet or playing console games.

It's rare to see kids outside playing these days and I have to wonder if they somehow get exercise indoors.
