Wallaby Joeys Begin Looking at the World

At the Marwell Zoo in the UK two red-necked wallaby joeys have started to come out of their mom's pouches. They are now a few months old. However, they will stay with their moms Holly Wallaby and Alison until they are seven months old. Then they will be able to start exploring on their own. They are curious and now and then pop their heads out of their mom's pouches to take a look at visitors. The red-necked wallaby is a native of Australia living in the southeast of the mainland and on the island of Tasmania.

That one looks pretty bare yet. Hopefully she'll grow some fur soon.

@Marty1 Yes, I think one of the ones I saw was quite similar as it was pretty hairless too.

@kobesbuddy I did not know either probably that is why they keep in the pouch because it is warmer for them,

@RasmaSandra Yes, without any hair, they'd certainly stay warmer inside Mama's pouch:)

So cute. Wallabies and kangaroos can be very dangerous.

When I see a kangaroo photo, I think of Australia.
