Sometimes I feel like the mosquitoes enjoy my blood like I am complaining that I am having a lot of mosquito bite already but most of my company doesn't complain like they haven't bitten yet. Anyway, I think or heard that mosquito sometimes attracted to some blood type and I am type AB... Do you think it has something to do with blood type regarding the mosquito attraction?

@simplfred I believe they just bite whoever they want and to me does not matter what blood type one is.

I do not know if mosquitoes have a preferred blood type to feed on. I also observed that mosquitoes have also increased as I see them in my place too where it is not common to have them in our place. I think it is because of the previous rainy days that they were able to increase in population that they were able to reached my floor which usually they do not on a normal day.

@simplfred Yes, I also believe that the rains in the past days did give them an opportunity to breed in stagnant water thus the increase in their population. What I am afraid of in this sudden population boom is the emergence of Dengue too.

I am so sorry you have to deal with them. I have lived in places like that with a lot of them. Here we do not have them.

I'm O+ but know people with my same blood type who don't get stung as often as I do. Mosquitoes are attracted by carbon dioxide and some scents, they're supposed to avoid other scents like those of repellents but most of the time they don't seem to care, too hungry to be picky I guess.

@simplfred Yeah, I guess blood type makes us smell uniquely too, but I'm sure there's much more than that.

they say if you eat a lot of bananas and drink milk you are more attractive .....also if you are pregnant, not sure about blood type

@58lordstreet @simplfred Another nonsensical explanation. I grew up in the former GDR (German Democratic Republic). There were no bananas. Fruits from tropical countries were not imported. The midgets stung me nevertheless.

@MALUSE errr thank you maybe they would bite you more if you also ate bananas......I actually got used to the bites eventually so they didnt bring up lumps.....but ended up getting chickungunya from them.....midges are not really the same as mosquitoes though

@simplfred @JESSY3236 No, it does not make sense. It's complete nonsense. You get bad teeth from eating too many sweets, though.
