It turned black.

The sky went from blue to black pretty quickly. The tornado sirens went off, the TV blared an emergency alert, and my phone beeped a tornado warning message. I hate this time of year. Last night the storms came through, and the tornadoes headed my way. I gathered up all my medicine, my phone, Kindle, and a bottle of water. I grabbed my dog, Sadie, and headed for my bathtub. For those of you unfamiliar with tornadoes you are supposed to go to the innermost of your house or bathtub, and cover yourself with preferably a mattress, but also blankets. You are also supposed to be on the lowest floor of your facility, but I live on the top floor of my apartment, and can't help that. Six tornadoes touched down, but none near me. Buildings were destroyed, but not one injury was reported. Once the storm passed that black sky disappeared, and I saw a beautiful sunset. Tomorrow is supposed to bring another round of tornadoes. Please say a prayer for me, and the rest of us here. May in Oklahoma brings the most tornadoes of the year.

Oh, girl, I wish you could at least get an apartment on a lower floor. The senior apartments where my sister lived have built above ground storm shelters and each resident has a key.

Just said a quick prayer for you. I have been through a tornado and I know they are nothing to sneeze at. We had big tree land on the roof, and I had to have the entire roof replaced. Luckily, I found some low priced home contractors and had enough money to have someoneone put laminate flooring down as well. I really like it, and much better than the cheap carpet that was in here initially. Stay safe!!!!

We had a close tornado last year. I live on the second floor. That’s exactly what I do head to the bathroom with water! Flashlight and blankets. We have a lot of tornadoes and have damages. Trees down. Electric off and so on. Hope this one goes around you.

We get tornadoes in Michigan, every summer. One year we had five touch down and tear through the forest, nobody was hurt but there were a lot of trees down. Not one home was destroyed, thank God!
