I May Get This Done After All

As most of you know that read my posts, I am waiting to get my cataract surgery taken care of this summer. So, I had an appointment on April 18th. Thought it was more of a consolation before the surgery but I was wrong. Today I got a call from the eye doctor's office to make arrangements for an eye measurement appointment. That will happen on May 26th at the usual Boise office. Then she gave me a date of June 13th for the surgery but no time. That will be at their Meridian office which is in a small town nearby.
So, slowly but surely, I am getting to the actual surgery point. I was going to get this done last summer but ran out of transportation money and didn't want to go out in the fall/winter. So here I am with a 'mature' cataract that will probably hurt more but, I will actually be getting this done finally.
I'm a bit nervous. Have been through other surgeries in my life but, they were in other parts of my body and, I was younger. The eye area is sort of a sensitive area. I will be glad when it is done and behind me. Then get the right eye taken care of and I will be set.

I don't know if I could let someone do anything to my eyes... My worst fear is going blind...
You know I hope the best for you and the surgeries.

You know @DaddyEvil on that we are completely alike, I have a very bad fear of blindness and often if for some reason I just think about it my anxiety level heads into the red zone,

@RasmaSandra The first time I had an allergic reaction that sealed my eyes shut I panicked! I had been asleep. I jumped out of my bed and ran into the living room calling for Pretty. I ran into our glass coffee table and slashed both legs open before she reached me.

@DaddyEvil Woah what an experience I don't blame you for being scared, Glad you were alright after that. Let us just not dwell on this and put it in the back of our minds, Through the years my eyesight has improved and I read books and small print with no glasses but ear glassed every day,

At least things are moving forward for you. My May 6 appointment was cancelled due to the doctor being ill, and no makeup appointment was suggested.

@RubyHawk ......Hope mine don't either. The dentist told me what he was going to do wouldn't hurt and it did so I don't believe them.

Everyone is anxious about getting eye surgery. You will be fine. They numb your eyes so hopefully you won't feel a thing. Good luck!

My Aunt, got hers done at Kaiser Hospital, her daughter works there in admin. She says one eye at a time. She was over 60, already, and she said, doesn't hurt, just a day of covering. Then they did her other eye within month, done. No complications, and she was surprised, so fast. My Mom, till 91, never had to have it done. I'm seeing floaters now. But I noticed it when my eyes wet with me my drops no floaters. I'll be seeing my ophthalmologist this month. She keeps watching it, got cataracts, but no need for surgery. Doc say, she will tell me, if I need surgery.
But I understand, it's eyes, so precious to us.
