Cold feet warm heart

I used to work for this elderly lady and her hands were always cold and one day she said " cold hands, warm heart." This got me to thinking. Maybe cold feet could apply to her old saying. Back then I didn't understand what she meant but today, a few minutes ago, I understood. A couple years ago my friend Brenda taught me that I can only give my power away that no one can take it. Along the way I have said those exact words to a few. My dad always told me to shut up and listen. However, sometimes you don't understand at the moment, then BAM! All those conversations makes sense.

Judge Judy always says that's why God gave us two ears and only one mouth.

I have many memories of these sayings in my mind, from family members that make a lot more sense now than then.

Dr. Phil has a similar saying. He said his dad used to say "Never miss a good chance to shut up."

It takes a little while before we learn our parents weren't as stupid as we thought they were...

Being a good listener is vital, to life's learning process. Cold hands/warm heart, this might be true in some cases:) Someone who talks too much, they lack understanding about many things.

Or they talk to learn from others, by opinions.

Love those old sayings! As the years have gone by, I find I have cold hands and cold feet now in the winter!

I didn’t realize that saying meant that. How odd. I thought it just meant people are very kind.

Isn't it great when that happens. Some words are so full of wisdom and when you finally get it, the light shines. Words so powerful too. My Mama RIP always said that too, cold hands, warm heart.

Actually I'm not sure what the saying means either, but I've heard it before. Is it related to giving your power up?

Listening is important to a point. We do need to speak when we have something to say that is in line with the situation.
