Mother’s Day started off great

My stepson went to his moms house Friday night so I didn’t get to spend the day with him today.
Saturday morning my husband ripped up the bathroom floor and toilet and started laying down the slate flooring. So we didn’t have a toilet for the day or overnight.
My oldest daughter stays up much later at night then I do and I didn’t want her having to go the bathroom in the middle of the night and going across the street in the dark to my parents house to use their toilet.
So for the first time I willingly let her stay the night at her boyfriends house. She will be 18 in two weeks and will probably stay there most nights so I figure it’s not much different.
I forgot to message her boyfriend today to tell him the toilet was back on until 4:30pm. She had sent me an email earlier wishing me a happy Mother’s Day.
I had a wonderful day with my husband and son and my baby. My son was so helpful with the baby so I could get things done and my husband made me dinner and got me a new handheld gps, flowers and chocolates. My father also brought me flowers.
I got sad when during dinner my daughter dropped by and asked for $5 so her boyfriend his friend and her could go get ice cream.
I was hoping she would come home and spend some time with me. I guess I’ll only see her for a few minutes today when I pick her up from her boyfriends house before I go to bed.

@snowy22315 it was a nice day. I held out hope all day my daughter would come home early to spend time with me but she didn’t. Maybe next year. Her bday is coming up and I don’t think she intends to be home then either and at 18 that day I won’t have a say in anything in her life anymore. I hope she will make responsible choices. I am going to see if she wants me to buy a cake and ice cream even if she doesn’t eat it here and take it to her boyfriends for her and her friends I still want her to have one if she wants and to have a good day.

@snowy22315 nope she’s been awful since she started dating him. I am not a fan of him or her behavior since she’s been dating him at all.

@CarolDm my husband gives really nice gifts. He’s always finding me things that are things I need and won’t buy myself usually. He pays way more then I would for things. I feel guilty he spends so much on me but I can’t really do anything about it.

My wife was so very happy for we went out for a date to honor her as the best mother of my 6 children and in the evening she treated with a sumptuous dinner by her youngest son.
