I applaud when I do any small technological task.

I could not read the screen because everything was not bright enough. Besides that, the letters were absolutly small. I could not even read them with my glasses on. I had been planning to wait until another generation came for a visit. But then I got depressed thinking that everything that was my world was slowly ending. There are 2 remedies for that, I thought. One is to give up and finish my days in a hole and the other was, as Hamlet would have said "take arms against a sea of trouble and by opposing end them". I decided to start clicking (the arms for technology). I found the configuration, placed the screen lighter and then asked it to have bigger letters. I don´t care about default or what is best. I care about my eyes. Suddenly the tiny dots grew bigger and the brightness helped me. Yay for me!!! Now, after I finish this post, I´ll see what can be done with the mouse. I never know where it it and I have the suspicion that that is the reason why some posts disappear. See you soon Technology genius

Marga, if you are using Chrome as a browser, CONTROL and + together and you get bigger letters.

Yes, you have become a technology genius! I'm the same with my phone, there's not much that I understand or how to open/close certain apps. Little by little, I'm figuring out these modern inventions:) Nope, technology no longer leaves me in a hole. I climbed out and ask a lot of questions, instead!

I live alone so I don´t have anyone to ask. And when someone comes around, they prefer to do what I want than to teach.

@marguicha Jay tries to teach me, but he gets frustrated. I have a hard time remembering three&four steps at a time. When I go online, the step by step lessons, I read them over a couple times. I try to learn on my own.

Thank you, Marlina. The problem is that when I learn something, they change the way to do it.

@marlina I gave my printer to my daughter. I only print a few things and I can take my laptop to either Dixie´s or Claudia´s house to print.

I am a blot for my generation. While others in my older generation get the technology so fast, I take time. I resist to come out and try new things unless it becomes absolute necessity to use it Congratulations!! You did a good job

It's great that you've found the problem, a week ago I fixed a computer that had a failed CMOS battery and it took less than a minute to complete

@marguicha CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor) battery is The battery is shaped like a metal coin and is not rechargeable it used as a storage for BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) settings and the time will be running even though the electricity is not connected to the computer. The CMOS Battery is available on motherboard either it was Laptop or Desktop

It's good to pat yourself on the back when you feel like you accomplished something. You work hard for the tasks that you complete in your life. When patting yourself on the back. It will give you the courage to complete another task.

I agree. I receive applauses for my cooking when I have guests. But I hardly applaud myself for that as I know it will be fine.

My laptop gave me lots of trouble yesterday. I got froze up and other things, I am lucky that my best friend's husband is a computer expert, He came upstairs last night and this afternoon and got my laptop in some kind of order, I have previously had problems with a dark screen but my laptop fixed itself that time when I just restarted it, I am glad you could get yours fixed up,

That's great. When I moved into my uncle's house, I had to use his laptop. The screen is way too small and I had to learn how to make the font bigger. But then the cats started sitting on the keyboard messing up the screen. I was so glad to get my own computer in this house.

Usually the younger people who come to visit do it for such a small time that I want them to tell me what they are doing. and the like.
