"She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" was released in 1969 on the "Abbey Road" album and was not released as a single. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon-McCartney duo. The song begins with the tune "Polythene Pam" which abruptly ends, then with no pause John Lennon shouts "Oh, look out!"; and then "She Came In..." begins. McCartney said that the song was inspired by a fan who hung around his St. John's Wood home and later broke in. The fan, Diane Ashley stated, "We were bored, he was out and so we decided to pay him a visit. We found a ladder in his garden and stuck it up at the bathroom window which he'd left slightly open. I was the one who climbed up and got in." She then opened the front door and let other fans in. They stole clothes and a number of photographs. I don't like a song that has the word "bathroom" in the title, sounds weird to me.

My Mum used to be a big Beatles fan so I know a few of their songs. But I've not heard of this one. But then my Mum liked them when they had short hair, she didn't like them in their hippy days. The song has got an interesting story to go with it.

It’s sad that they had no lives of their own back then. I do like this song.

@LindaOHio — yes. I guess they “got used to it,” but that’s not saying they liked it.

@FourWalls I understand that the clean-cut, suited young men had their choice of fans. :-D
