Not real functional

Until I get really used to it my laptop just is not as functional for me as my desk top was. Last night it kept freezing up so I did not get back here like I wanted. I went to bed instead. Today I have a field trip with my kiddo and his class. we will go to "Ag Day" At the county fair grounds and to a movie in another town. That is providing his mother sends spare clothing in case of an accident--toileting wise. Have I mentioned this job of mine is a diapering situation? And he often soaks through. I need to eat a good breakfast now, and pack a simple lunch. I imagine part of my problem with the computer will resolve. I will also check to see if it is just my monitor that is dead. . . I have a spare, but I suspect it is the CPU as well, because the on/off button is stuck "on" This is how my day is unfolding so far.

The Monitor does not have a CPU, the computer have a CPU but if it's a button that is stuck it is the power supply.

The Monitor says it is not receiving a signal. The CPU has a button and says it is on, but it does not send a signal. We had another storm and it turned off, but is on again. I think I will be getting a new desktop.

@GardenGerty The monitor turns on when you press the power button. But the computer will not run without a CPU. The monitor should display something like "no signal", if there is no CPU on the motherboard.

It's been years since I've had a laptop but I'm thinking of maybe getting either that or a tablet, haven't really done any serious research about them.

Go for the best you can afford. I went too cheap and that is part of my problem.

Loved seeing the high school kids present about different aspects of agriculture. My kiddo got to pet some animals. He got to go to the movies, and he had never been. It was a lot of work.

I think all technology has this thing that it takes like a week to get accustomed to whatever you're doing on it. It's weird to me that something new, lags and freezes but within like a week, it's normal and everything is peachy. Though I've never had one computer that's been able to handle everything for me. My desktop holds all my music. It doesn't do anything else. My laptop is for the point sites that I work and writing. It also has my pictures on it. By far it does the most. I'm working on getting a small chromebook or something to run my cricut stuff on. Partly because cricut takes so much time and partly because this laptop isn't picking up the blue tooth. I have a lot lol but it all works when I have split up. I hope you have a great day on the field trip!

Field trip was fun. I am glad you can manage all your technology so well.

@GardenGerty I think it's about all I do, is manage lol. I hate updates and when new stuff comes out. Then I have to re-teach myself whatever they came out with eventually because at some point what I have will stop working. Pretty sure that's the only reason I even try to keep up with it lol

I'm sorry that happened with your laptop. I'm hoping to get a Chromebook one day (when I've saved up enough money). They are supposed to be good.

Some people really like them and they are good for projects like the kids do at school. They do not have much memory.

@GardenGerty They have enough memory for what I want them for. And they have built in virus protection and they update things in the background so it doesn't disturb what you're doing.

I don't have a laptop and I don't want one. I love my desktop. I hope your day gets better and better.

We got extra clothes and wipes. They should not have to be reminded. It gets tiresome.

Yes, it can. I am very dependent on my computer.
