Checking out the beach.

Normally, my husband will take me to Port orange to view fireworks at the city center. However, he came up with the idea of doing a station instead. He doesn't like driving after dark and this is a win-win. So, we're headed to beachside to check out the resorts, and possibly build up points. He wants to get out of the house from time to time, but he doesn't want to have to drive far. In fact, we're not going to my mother-in-law's funeral, because it's a two-hour drive each way for a half hour service. We just didn't tell anyone the we changed our minds, and he's taking the time off.

Driving long distances can be hard on the pocketbook these days also.

More wear and tear on the van, but it's new so that's not a big deal. But, yeah. we aren't doing it. Called and told my sister-in-law today.

@Juliaacv No. And our "service" would've lasted half an hour. We were supposed to be there at 2:1 5, to "line up" and then have the service. George has never been to Bushnell (he can't even find it on a map) and, he's not driving that far. Since I can't help, he's not as comfortable.

Driving long distances is not my cup if tea either. The beach sounds great. The only ones close to us is a long drive.

@kaylachan Wow, you are lucky, the largest city for us is at least 60 miles away.
