Yesterday, I went shopping, and I got sticker shock let me tell you. Between that and the shortages, it was not a pleasant experience. Everything is just so expensive. Even Aldi didn't really have any good buys except on hamburger buns, ground turkey and HalloumiTheir eggs which they have had for a song in the past were 2.14. I didn't check them at Wegmans. I got a toaster yesterday at a yard sale sort of place, and it was good that I did, as I didn't see one under 25 dollars. . There were a couple of cheaper ones online but they didn't have good reviews. I have also heard that the local food banks are low on donations and products. It's pitiful, just pitiful.. I personally think we are in a recession. It can't continue.

Hopefully it won't get worse than this. I think the same, probably due to bad decisions concerning war.

@sabtraversa Let's cross our fingers that it does not get worse here in our old Europe.

I agree, we are definitely into a recession and it's just starting.

@LadyDuck The fuel prices alone are likely to lead to this. I had a rebate to buy these chcolate stuffed marshmellows which I have had before and are really good. I saw them in two stores both for 3.99,(more than I paid before) and the bag was less than half the size of when I bought them previously.! Suffice it to say I got regular ones.

@snowy22315 - I am seriously concerned, add to this the fact that we know we are having a shortage of many common products.

This is all just so awful lately. Food prices are insane. I used to be able to get a heaping cart full of groceries for what I am paying for maybe a 1/4 of a cart full. Not a good time to be planning a large graduation party. I’m also worried about getting Covid and having to cancel it. Or getting Covid from all the graduation parties I have to attend.

@snowy22315 it’s so rare to see anyone in PA wearing them that I felt stupid myself wearing one and stopped about a month ago. So far I’ve been able to get the babies formula at our local supermarket. Thankfully we get wic because it’s way more expensive there.

Wear a mask..You don't "have to" attend them anyway. You have a baby better to stay healthy. Do you guys have enough formula? I guess she is probably eating more real foods now.

I do not go out often as I work from home. I always get an eye opener when I drive by a gas station, those prices are always higher then the previous drive by that I've done. Groceries are crazy expensive. I have found some items, such as shoes, to have great sales when they go on sale. I bought a new nine west purse this week and it was reduced nicely.

@Juliaacv I put 20 dollars in yesterday as I was going out of the area, but it wasn't that far away maybe 50 miles round trip, and now I need gas again..

@snowy22315 On the news today they stated that our gas was going to drop 3 cents today and another dime tomorrow. But really in the grand scheme of things, that is a drop in the bucket. I am down to half a tank, so I will probably fill up tomorrow.

Every day I shake my head at what I see on the news and the shortages and price increases. What's gas by you? Some places here in PA gas is over $5 and they say it could go up to at least $6 by summer. Guess we'll all be thinking twice about where we're going and what we're buying.

It was 4.39 in the station closest to me, but I saw it for 4.45 or more in other places. 6 bucks would cut down on a lot of summer travel for sure.

@snowy22315 I wonder how many people will reconsider traveling due to the gas prices. Everything else is so high in price that i guess a weeks vacation would cost a bundle all the way around

People are struggling to manage here too. Rental prices have gone out the roof and some have to choose between rent and food.

It's pathetic. I don't know a better word to use. Kind of frightening too, for some.
