Anticipation

This morning I’m enjoying my morning coffee, watching the birds and planning my day.
Every day the world around me becomes greener. The grass is lush, the tamaracks are shows a fresh green haze (after months of gray and dead looking).
In a few short weeks the Lupins will be blooming.
Everywhere I look, the ditches along the road, the meadows….along the trails, literally a sea of colour.
The purple are the most plentiful, but pink and white and even yellow appears.
Spring is my favourite time of year.

I’m loving the greening up…but unfortunately I’m not loving the black flies that have made their appearance as well.

@Morleyhunt I'll have to take a hike on Mt. Diablo and see if they're out yet here.

@TheHorse I’ve seen lots of leaves, but no flowers yet…but give it about two weeks and the countryside will be awash with purples, pinks and whites.

Yes. The flowers in the photo are lupins. The picture was taken last June.

The farmers grow crops of lupins here and the paddocks become just a wash of colour.

It’s not a crop here..it’s a wildflower that seems to grown everywhere the eye can see.

It is so beautiful. The temperatures are conducive to spending hours outside….and then they appear…..the bloodsucking hordes of first biting black flies…then mosquitoes and deer flies.

What flower is that in the photo? It seems we have it too but I don't know its name.

The flower in the photo is a Lupin
They bloom from mid June until mid July. Last year I saw some blooming in October. (That was a first for me)

I’ll go for a walk along the Trans Canada trail just for the beauty of these flowers. I live less than a km from the TransCanada highway.

I love spring too when everything starts to bloom. I love riding along our country roads and seeing wildflowers

The first time I saw the lupins along the road I was amazed. I still find it a breathtaking display when you see them growing everywhere you go.

I love sipping coffee too. However with my night work shift, I'm taking coffee not only in the morning, also in the evening. Lol.

A morning coffee, an after dinner coffee. In between I’ll drink a decaf.
