What an unanswerable query!

I got a question though sounds funny but it is true. This question cannot be answered by yes. And it is practically true indeed.
I come across this in one of my readings in the social media like FB.
The question is: are you sleeping? Can you answer that when you're already asleep. Of course, you can't. Can you?

Wow! That's a cool question. Is it somewhat related of what I've read that a husband shake his wife sleeping. "Hey! Wake up!"
Then the wife woke up. Then after woke up, the wife asked "Why?"
Husband said: "Nothing, go back to sleep."

I don't agree.
A doctor could ask a question, 'Are you sleeping?'
The question in this context is to find out if a person is experiencing insomnia or are they getting plenty of rest.
Not literally at this moment in time, but when you go to bed for the night, are you sleeping?
The question would be absurd if it was, 'Are you asleep?'

You sound reasonable. That's well taken. But the point here is that the person is already asleep. Thus it's impossible for him to answer yes.
