Friday Night Date Night

Last night my husband and I went out to eat at our favorite restaurant for date night. We had a pretty good time, although there were issues. For one, it took us 50 minutes from the time we were seated until the food came. That's almost an hour, and we didn't even order an appetizer. Then my food came and it was fish tacos that are served blackened. I asked for them NOT to be blackened because that seasoning is too spicy for me. After the waitress left, I discovered they were blacked. Yuck. I had to drink a lot of water and was served 3, so since our waitress was nowhere in sight, I just took the fish out of the other 2 tacos and ate them with the coleslaw and avocado in the taco shell. Still good. My husband ordered crabmeat stuffed trout which came on a bed or sauteed kale. He doesn't like kale so asked if he could substitute something else. The waitress said asparagus which he agreed to. When it came out the asparagus was hardly cooked at all...even rawer than al dente style. Fortunately, we enjoy each other's company, and the desserts were good, so the evening was not a total loss. This is our favorite restaurant because of the view, the ambiance, and usually the food, so we will be back. I guess they were just having an "off" night.
